Idea for a srachbuild starship
Posted by T-rex on Thursday, January 28, 2010 1:56 PM

Normal I don't come to the sci-fi forum, but I haad this great idea in my head for a build that I really want to to.

I can't describe it by its massive size but I can tell you a good idea of what it might look like.

The body and most of the ship looks very much like this Rebel starcruiser.

And in front a giant sail or web kinda like the spaceship from the movie sunshine.

Now I really want to srachbiuld this one cause I would hate to buy these kits (if it were available) because I really want to be creative with its design. That all I can tell for now but I really don't know where or how to start building a srachbuild starship, But I am willinmg to use leftover pieces from previous models, or even junk lying around.

Working on: Trumpeter SU-152 (1/35) Trumpeter E-10 (1/35) Heller Somua (1/35)

This link (  /forums/t/107622.aspx  ) should take you to the Star Trek Group Scratch Build thread. The method I used for the scratch build of the secondary hull of Kodiak, might be a start for your project, or at least, give you some idea where or how to start. The drawings for Kodiak are on page 4, the start of build is on page 6.  There are ten pages in this thread, and you might find some additional information from some of the other models. Good luck with your project.
