PL 1/350 NX-01 Almost Done!
Posted by DanTHEMan on Saturday, March 13, 2010 10:42 PM

Finally, after almost 3 years of on and off work, my first serious build is complete. It was more like 2 models in 1, first the paint and then the assembly. Still have a bunch of decals to put on but for now it's looking quite nice. Also I am now starting on another PL model, the 1/350 Refit Enterprise (which i'll be doing as the Enterprise - A). So let me know what you think and if you have any pointers, feel free to tell.

And now my biggest model...

Nice looking NX!  Two questions, what kind of paint and color did you use for your base coat?  Secondly, did you paint on the Aztec markings or use the decals?

Look forward to the refit!

Hey thanks!! Well for the aztec patterns I used a masking kit. First I painted the darker color (steel) then laid down the masks and sprayed on aluminum as the base color. I pulled of the masks and voila! A nice looking aztec pattern. There were some patterns that were not included in the aztec kit and so I masked those myself (patterns along the nacelle pylons). All paint was Tamiya Acrylic and the aztec kit was by CultTVMan.
