Thanks for looking in. Not to suprised about the lack of posts, I don't normally generate a large thread normally about 20 repies or so. I'll try and get some better pics of the back end for you. Have you seen the round 2 BOP coming out soon? It's supposed to have landing gear and a rear boarding ramp. Looking forward to that.

Slightly surprised at the lack of replies to the final posts, until I saw they were dated around the time of "The Change". You'll get some better responses now, I think.
Well , bringing back an old thread here for an update.
Took this model to the ASMS show back on the 9th of Oct. Ended up getting third in the Sci Fi category, but; it also took home the best Star Trek/Star Wars model. Kind of suprised me as there was a nice Slave I and a very good Tie Fighter also.

Timescape, I appreciate the link, it's very helpful. I will most likely do this model again, with some lights, in the future. So some of those build techniques will be helpful.
No work done the last two days due to bad allergies, but I'm all cleared up and ready to get back to it tonight!

Timescape did a really good job on his. Hope mine comes out as well. Anyway I got most of the painting done so here are some update pics.
Then on to the detail painting.
I've got a little more detail to do then it's on to the weathering. I'm finding out the model stand is not any good so I've got to fill that hole up and repaint that area also. Thanks for looking in.

As mentioned the ship was christened with "HMS BOUNTY" in red capital letters. After watching the scene several times, I determined that it was painted on the lower hull below the port wing. Before adding the wings, I hand painted HMS BOUNTY with MM Insignia Red. Here is a close up.
Yes, I do recall that they painted HMS BOUNTY in red paint on the side of the BOP.
You might want to review the movie--Star Trek; The Voyage Home (its the one with the whales)--for the exact font and color of the name.

That looks great! Do you (or anyone else) recall if they painted the HMS in front of the Bounty or just painted the Bounty on the side of the BOP? Thanks for looking in.
Update: Sorry no pics yet. Finished clean-up and got the base paint on it last night, I will (hopefully) get the primary colors on tonight. Will try to get some pics also.
I did this with mine. I entered it in a contest as "HMS Bounty" Of course it baffled the judges as they were looking for a sailing ship. After that I add Klingon BOP to the title as well. Here are a couple of pics of my model.

Thanks for lookingin. I plan on getting the filling and sanding done tonight. Hopefully will also get a base layer of paint down. As you can tell this one's going to be out of the box, but I would like to get another one and try to light it up as it would look pretty easy to do. Now all I have to do is learn some basic electronics.
Klik was actually thinking about doing the bounty as named by McCoy, but we will see.

Hey Guys,
Working on AMT/ERTL's Klingon Bird of Prey. This is my first foray into Sci-Fi and so far am having a blast. Got the kit of Ebay for $9.17(not including shipping an extra $10), which I thought was pretty good. It's an old kit, year stamp 1995, so it has some mold alignment issues which caused some flash and alot of seem lines to clean up. Anyway got this started on Friday and after the weekend ended up here.
It's the cloaked version.LoL
Now for the real work.
Okay so just one pic so far I'll try to get more as I go along. Was thinking ahead to painting does it have to be green, I've got another idea for paint schemes.
