I use Zoids kits as scratchbuilding fodder. There are some great shapes in those kits and as stated earlier they are styrene.

Very nice! what kit did you have for the Wolf? my kit only had little machine guns, not those honkin things!

did you mount sidewinders on the Pteradactyl-looking one? Where did you get that nifty stand?

Thanks for posting those pix!

that sounds great, cant wait to see pics!  Yes

My brother and I would "fight" our Zoids and whomever knocked the most pieces off would win...though sometimes he would play that game all by himself, which led to my Shield Liger to take a tumble off the table and break off most of its tail....

I think I have about 2gib worth of images I'll trawl through some later see what I can find. I have a konigwolf in my stash waiting to be built. My first zoid was a Red Blade Liger, I've had a few over the years but my oldest boy is a bigger fan than me and between him and his siblings things went missing and eventually no more. I also have all episodes of the the different series Stick out tongue (though there maybe a new one on the last year or so I'm not sure)

The re-release, I think. I used to rush home after school so I could watch the show!!  Love the username, BTW. Koning Wolf was my first Zoid kit I got! ....and I think it is the most complete one i still have.

What have you seen done? I'd like these to look good and would like to see what can be done with them.

The original 80's release or the late 90's and 2000+ release?

80's no not really

rerelease yes (hell just check my username Big Smile), I've seen some wicked builds done of these kits.

I have a little collection of old Zoid kits I put together as a kid, and I had not come up with an Idea as to what I was going to do with them....until now.

They are made of the same plastic as model airplanes, right? and at 1/72 scale, are little models in their own right. I bet these would look really cool with some weathering and battle damage.

How would I be able to re-build them around the mechanical bits meant to make them move? Does anybody have any thoughts on the matter?

Thanks!
