Terminator endoskeleton arm (1/2 scale)
Posted by Cobra 427 on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 1:55 PM

This is the other project that I've been working on, and offering for sale on a couple other sites. I'm offering this for people who have limited space, but still want the look of the full scale Terminator arm.  I've seen a few of these on ebay, but those don't have moveable fingers. Mine is designed with moving pistons, and manipulable fingers so that you can position them however you wish. This will have all the correct detailing, and design of the original full sized arm.  I hope to have the money for the rest of the casting materials for this, so I can make more than one of these otherwise, I'll just make this one. When I get the money for the chrome, I'll chrome this over, then I'll sell it for what I can get out of it, so I can get the rest of the supplies I need to finish the four foot X-wing. I need at least five people who are interested in this before I'll throw this into rubber. Otherwise, I can't afford the casting materials to do this with. I have two people interested on hobbytalk - I only need three more.

I'll just post pictures of the progress that I made before I posted these on hobbytalk.  I've made a little more progress since then, but it's been an arduous journey trying to get this done. This has tested all my personal mettle psychologically, and artistically! I've had to redo parts for this more than I ever did on any other model so far - including the four foot X-wing. This is actually pissing me off! I've had to stop all work in favour of researching the construction of the fingers. When I conquer these, I'll have more progress to post. I hope to have enough people interested in this, or I'll just have enough money make one, then sell it on ebay. I need at least another $75.00 for casting materials, and another $85.00 + for the chrome that I need to make these with. I want to offer these as a kit, but pre-chromed, so all you have to do is put it together, then paint the base however you wish.

I've seen some people on ebay put LEDs in these, so I'll leave the bases unpainted for anyone who wants to do this, so they don't damage the finish. Even if you're not interested in having one of these, I hope you all enjoy this thread anyway.

Maybe a picture of a squirrel playing a harmonica will make you feel better?
