If you haven't done one already Barry, you really should do a WIP on your photography techniques. Even your "in progress" shots are excellent.

Its a long Process Painting all the rust but enjoyable at the same time !

Once all of the rust has been Applied and with a heavy contrast, I will start on the dust and dirt.

and with the rust being so strong ,it should show through and create some depth when dry brushing the dust and dirt as a highlight and bring out the detail on the Model.

Well thats the Model so far,

Ill post more photos soon as I continue weathering the Rat.

All the best,

Barry.

The long proccess of Applying the rust to the model has now started "and im still doing it !"

i wanted the car to have a real rusty rotten look to it, and so all the rusty water streaks were all applied with a small Brush in many layers by watering down the Acrrlic paint to for different shades of rust.

the Red Oxide primer is a good base to start the paint and weathering Process.

The Car is also going to carry a Duel Cannon on the top of the rear roll cage.

the Driver is an Old 1/24 scale Airfix Spitfire Pilot. I cut him up until he was in the right Position.

however, with it being so tight in there ! the steering wheel slots in place so I can take the driver out at any time.

Another Post Apocalypse Model.........The Desert Rat.
Posted by Barry C Hark on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 9:41 AM

Hello all,

Hope you are all well and its good to see some great looking Models still coming out of this Forum !

its been a while since I last posted any thing since Finishing my Post Apocalypse Mustang.

and with being very busy at work latley, hav'nt had much chance.

so here is a new model Ihave been working on for the last few Months on and off and im now into the Painting stage, but here is how the Build went..............

I wanted to build a Hot Rod for the Wastelands and had a 41 willys Chassis left over from another build

I cut the Chassis and streched it for the Big block motor that would eventully go in.

not having any body shells left in the spares box I decided to scratch build an Armoured tub to house the driver and fuel tank along with some storage.
