Studio NUE 1/20 Powered Suit. WIP
Posted by Mad-Modeler on Saturday, August 21, 2010 12:29 AM

And now for something completely different.

I always liked "Starship Troopers" Books and Anime and was happy when Wave released the 1/12 Plastic model of the very similar Suit by Studio Nue.

At that time I already had the Bandai Soft Vinyl kit of the Suit from the Anime.

This Item is the unassembled Action figure of the Studio Nue suit in 1/20, kaiyodo at that time soldd a few action figures  as unassembled kits like FSS, etc.

Here is the Box it comes in:

The boxing is standard for those unassembled action figs.

Here is the box opened with the parts visible:

As you can see most of the parts are cast in solid Vinyl and a few Metal parts. Instructions call for a hair-dryer and some CA for assembly, most of the parts will be moveable when finished.

Also the parts are not painted. Will be using vallejo paints on it.

This will be a slow build on the side as I want to clear some semi-build models of the bench to get working on some GB models.

First order will be test-fitting  parts to establish painting and assembly order.

More to follow soon.

Did a few easy sub-assemblies that only require CA.

Step1: Chest and backpack parts.

Step 2 more chest work and some work on arms and legs.

Thrusters above can rotate

Next is parts cleanup and  gap-filling. Some of the Vinyl parts are a tight fit into the metal parts aqnd some just don't want to fit 100%(common feedback).

For gap-filling I will be using SSP-HG. After that priming and adding next parts in squence.

FYI, this kit only has an exploded diagram of the parts, also forgot there are clear-parts of course and the kit naturally has decals and 3 different colour scheme diagrams.

Cool kit Mad-Modeler, look forward to this.  I too am a BIG fan of vallejo paint.  Pretty much use it most of the time on all my models.  So this has metal/vinyl parts.  Interesting to say the least.  Is there a photo of what this Powered suit looks like completed some where?
