Thanks man!

Despite I have a big color palette for figure painting (acrylics and enamels as well) , I always started on every model from a darker base than final finish require. That way I can give better lights and don't need too darker shadows (at least my way of working).

Instead of pure sand, try to mix it with some light brown (perhaps 70:30) to give first base coat.
Not sure what size are you working on, but after this base, try first airbrush hand with pure sand (or ivory) as first light and you'll see a diference. Believe or not I always finish with freehand brush even at this scale (just to give the last realistic "touches"). Hope that helps!

Wow! What a couple of neighbours you have! I would be frigthen to enter on that kitchen, waiting for a facehugger to jump over me when passing near a cupboard! Indifferent

Great work!  fantastic definition of all the colors used. Are you using custom blends of colors/ I would love to get started on my small scale Pred figures but dont know what color to use as the base, and I feel that Sand or Light Ivory really isnt going to look right on flesh.

A couple from the Hunters Lair live down the street from me. I love visiting.  Sith Lords, Cylons, and Predators....oh my!  She's kinda short, hes really tall, a full head above me in my boots.  Unfortanately he cut the face away for wearability....argggggggg! He repainted and rebuilt the costume. They have an arrangment, when he gets a new csotume, she gets something. You should see her kitchen!

If you aren't having fun, you're doing it wrong! Build to please yourself and they will flame you every time!

Well, despite both were comissions, I didn't record an exact amount  of the time taken. Confused
Being so big sculpts I put my hands on them periodicaly (not a full-time work over them).

From the day I started till their end, they took around 8 months. Perhaps 2 months x 8hs a day could be an aproximate number.

Cheers!

Wow... wow...wow... Bow Down

Epic beyond belief! Predator... what a great movie. No plot at all... just 1.5 hours of blood, violence, swearing, and lead flying through trees. What more can you want in a movie?

Unfortunately not! Crying
Those were both private overseas comissions.
But thanks anyway! That could be the best compliment received
