Star Trek Kits
Posted by Deadlights on Saturday, September 4, 2010 7:04 PM

I got the following for $10 yesterday on craigslist. Yes, $10 for all three kits.

1. AMT/ERTL Star Trek The Next Generation USS Enterprise Starship  NCC 1701 D (#6619)

2. AMT/ERTL Star Trek Deep Space Nine Space Station(#8778)

3. Monogram Star Trek Voyager Maquis Ship (#3605)

I've found a lot of interesting ideas on how to build the Enterprise including the one by Chris Paveglio so I'm not worried about that. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience building the other two kits and would like to share their experiences in doing so.

That is a great deal for three kits!

They are all in approximately the same size boxes, yet it is safe to say the scales are vastly different. This can be a advantage to display all three in the same box style scene. Thinking the space station could be put in the back of a forced perspective box, that is the front is larger than the back. Place the other two towards the front so the Voyager is in front of the Enterprise.

Regardless have fun building your space themed models. Just had the idea when I seen the kits. Idea

All three are great kits! They're nicely detailed and go together pretty well. As a matter of fact, I don't remember much too bad about them! Enjoy!

I buit the DS-9 kit several years ago. Drilled out the "ports" painted the interior so that light wouldn't shine through. I used LED's and  9 volt transistor battery. The effect from the red Reactor Lights is nice. Also there were several sets of "micro machine" Star Trek ships back about 10 years ago whic are nicely scaled to fit the DS-9 kit. Good Luck
