In some cases but for the close shots you could see that they were deffinately twin seaters, and the engine area was different.

If I recall correctly, the 1980 series used stock footage of the Vipers from the original series.

I have the resin raptor sitting on the shelf, possibly forever, I don't know.  What I'm after is the family model of the Viper from Galactica 1980.  There used to be one out but I missed it.

Here's another one:

Don't judge another person until you have walked a mile in their shoes....then you are a mile away and you still have their shoes.

It was either Grace Park or her cousin can take the credit for that one.

I have a Mk II I got last X-Mas and was wondering about the Raptor as well.  If they ever decide to do it, I hope it's 1/48 like the Viper.  I just can't work with 1/72 anymore.  I also have the original series Viper which I actually like the construction of better.  It's a LOT easier to light.  I have a couple of Cylon Raiders from the original which look much cooler than the new one.  I'm not sure if I would be interested in a Galactica from the new series.  Firstly, I am guessing it will be prohibitively expensive (At least for me), and I just didn't like the design.  The original Galactica looked much more realistic, and half her armor wasn't missing. LOL.  The Mk VII Viper just looked kind of goofy to me for some reason.  I might save up for a few months and get that when it comes out.

G'Day All,

I picked up the Moebius Viper Mk II this week and I am pretty impressed with it, On the Instructions I noticed they also had the Galactica a Viper Mk7 and A cylon Centurion planned, It is great to see a company running with the BSG re-make and was curious if there was any talk of a Raptor to park alongside the Vipers?

Cheers

In the Hangar: 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18D RAAF Hornet,

I build the 1/72nd scale resin kit and I thought it was a decent kit.  The comment about being expensive is true but that is the case with most garage kits..

It was a fun kit and I have some contruction photos if you are interested you can look at:

About the only issue I had was painting the canopy, as you can see....

Heya, Cairnsy,

I read on Hobby Talk that at this time Moebius has no plans to do a Raptor... This came directly from the owner.  The Viper sold well, hopefully the forthcoming Galactica and the other future kits will, too. If so, maybe we'll see a Raptor and possibly some ships from the  rag-tag fleet down the line.

Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

Don't know about Moebius but there have been a few resin garage kits put out.

Pretty rare and expensive.
