Looks good.  When did they come out with this kit again?

I remember building it back when it first came out and painted the clear parts with different color panels like they showed on the original box.  I also remember having trouble getting the different sections to stay straight out.  They had a tendency to angle down.

Thanks. I could see this as a star ship factory with room for 6 assembly bays in the central pod and manufacturing in the outer three. The tubes would hold the agricultural sections for an independent food supply for maybe 2,000 people. Housing is under the domes where the recreational Ag areas are. I cut photos of buildings and wrapped them around the central pylons to appear as windowed structures.  The chrome ship is made of the front fender spears of an AMT 58 Impala glued bottom to bottom.  In addition to simmed wildlife areas, there are spaces for personal gardening, as well. Yeah, too much time on my hands. I did strengthen the main joint to solve the sagging arms problem.  My favorite ship is the "Golden Rod" made from an Accurate Miniatures 1/48 bomb trailing fire up from the base.

I like it. The little touches like the ships and the greenery speak to a human presence, something sci-fi builds can often lack. Nice job.

What's the story behind the bare metal shelves?

Really, really sharp! I love how you got such a clean even job on the white paint. I hate white since it won't cover anything. And the super-detailing rocks too.

I stumbled across this by accident. What a great idea! Of course there would be an arboretum in the domes. Makes total sense. Well done, very imaginative.

I have this in queue.

I remember building this in my youth and I also remember as ikar01 pointed out, that the arms sagged.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how to "strengthen" the arms to avoid sagging?
