Halo Scale Models!

If they have Halo lego, there must be models soon. Its already got a cult following. However i think they need to finish the movie they started first.

Oh, yeah, the halo wars megablocks. Halo multimedia is growing. I have the halo anime collection, and it is excellent. I also can't wait til the movie. Yes, the facts do add up...

Would  love to see some good kits for it . If lego can do it I would hope some company would give it a go .

So would my son, he lives for Halo. the only problem is is the cost of licensing, Just my thoughts on this one... but licensing for Halo probably would be huge, and the model companies would have to see who would be interested in the kits. I hope they do because like I say my kid would go crazy for Halo kits.

It would be awesome to build a WartHog or Pelican kit, and then detail my own little Spartan figgies. But I doubt that Halo will EVER be liscensed out to make model kits. Microsoft keeps Halo on a very short leash, and doesn't like anyone to mess with it but them. Think about how long it took for them to authorize only six short novels and a short collection of short stories...model kits, if any, are very far off in the future...

and that's why Star Wars will always be one-upping Halo.

Very true, but it would still be cool to have a warthog hanging off the back of a pelican in your lounge and being able to say "I built that"

Speaking of WartHogs, did you see that 343 Industries (the motion-picture division of Microsoft, responsible for all those Halo live action shorts you see on TV) made a full-scale, drivable (the gun isn't real) WartHog out of a Nissan SUV?

If they can do that, why not a 1/48th or 1/35th WartHog? Seems like a lot less effort...

Weta workshops in NZ made one out of a landrover for the actual movie but when peter jackson and microsoft had a falling out and he lost the role as producer weta kept it. its now used to get camera gear into remote locations

I don't think Microsoft is so unreasonable as you guys are saying, Crimson skies was done as one of those cliky type minitures game, and the Halo MegaBlocks sets are cheaper than similar sized licensed Lego (Starwars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Batman etc) sets.

Not ideal for modelers, but some good snap kits would probably be best from the company perspective since they would be available to non-modeler Halo fans. Rather than Microsoft being a hold up, it is probably the lack of model company willing to take a risk on a video game based series of models.

Somebody is making Halo R/C toys. The local Hobby People carry these items. A Warthog, Mongoose, and Hornet.

Yeah, I'd like to make a spartan, but make a sweet colour or camo. They could make aftermarket armor accessories or armor pieces, like the ones in Halo: Reach!

Well, it certainly appears there would be a market for any Halo kits put out. Another niche Sci Fi area such as Star Wars, Star Trek, or Gundam, that could introducele new group of folks into model building.

I got the Scorpian R/C tank for Xmas, Thought it was great But the rear "tracks" are simulated and have a wheel on the bottom. Would like to get another and bash the rear tracks. I have always liked the Warthog since my kids got the first HALO game, It reminds me of the XR-311 that I had the privilage of testing when I was in the Army! We need Kits  Hey Bandi........

kit does not exists! I do at home with paper, scale 1 / 35, after resin, putty and paint

I doubt we'll ever see plastic kits, since Halo's target demographic really isn't much into modeling these days.  But I could be wrong.  I certainly hope so.  I've never scratchbuilt anything, but I model mostly armor and I've wanted to scratch a scorpion for a long time now.  Just not sure how to go about it.

Also, Lego doesn't have anything to do with Halo.  That would be MegaBloks, which are a cheap (in every sense of the word) imitation of Lego.

And BTW I love the idea of Halo kits, I dont see a whole lot of difference between halo and a lot of other Sci-Fi that is out there.  Afterall shorter lived and much less well known Sci-Fi movies, shows, and games have had kits made for them (Titan A.E. Dredge alien anyone?), so who knows.

Agree. They are too busy playing Halo to eat and sleep, much less take the time to build a model. Besides that there are already several very nice looking "toys" that are darn near model quality.

Im pretty sure I've said this before, but i would LOVE  LOVE LOVE to see a Halo model series come out. Heh, It might even get my teenaged brother to build a model! I'd know I'd try to get my hands on as many as I could. Especially that Hornet attack helicopter. Also, dibs on the Rocket Hog!

I too would love to see Halo model kits. It also COULD be something that could start a new generation of  model builders. A lot of younger folks love Halo and that intense interest  I think would prompt them to buy the models.

  I'd love to  have a scorpion,banshee,pelican,warthog,and some figure kits of master chief ,arbiter,standard elite,etc.

Ya never know. With Pegasus and Moebius models out there it could potentially happen some day.
