LOL, I know what you mean there. Sometimes I just have to step away for a little while. Putting it back in the box is a lot cheaper than drop-kicking the model Big Smile

this is the round 2 kit,  which is the polar lights kit (they just changed names)  the amt kit is about 537 or so scale.   the engines are from starship modeler.   the spine and nacelle struts are scratch built... the aggravation was all mine

Very cool! I think I didn't post before since I had assumed you'd be posting the finished photos soon.

It looks good. Which kit was this originally? I know Round 2 has reboxed kits previously released by both Polar Lights and AMT/Ertl.

this is my latest post, quite possibly my last post on this ship.  i had put it aside for awhile while working on a full scratch build ( which drew no attention) (quite probibally because there isn't a gundam glued on it ) anyway  i have finished the build, and the touch ups.  it has been in it's primer coat for about a week.  it was painted black,  then i masked the black parts of the engines, vents and other surface details.  then overall light gray.  now check the surface details for bubbles, wash outs or airborn fuzz deposited on the paint job.  then i will over all sand with 1000 grit finishing sand paper.  i will seal it with gloss krylon and decal it with my left over decals or bu

I have been thinking about this one since I got the first pnt kit about 2 years ago.  I had the original blueprints for about 20 years.   But I want to believe that this is the first 1000 scale model produced.  It is drying right now,  and is now in flat black primer for initial masking.

I thought the very thing.  there are two engines on line,  again with ( the beasts at fed).  ine is a pack of 2 refit style engines,  the other with the added structure to mate it the the neck.  this is a gizmo kit #gmt-r021.  the rest od the kit is in a box waiting for the idea to dawn on me.  the neck is a composit of styrene and putty,  usinf a online dreadnaught picture.

I really like that configuration.  I built one similar when I was in college.  I used the AMT/Ertl kit.

Keep us posted on your progress!

I really like that. I might have to build one myself.

here are some more pics of the ship.

this is my round 2 enterprise class heavy cruiser refit  dreadnaught, i mis-posted that was a 1000 scale ascension class dreadnaught.  but then I pulled my head out, as well as a set of blueprints I had in a box and started to bash it together. enjoy
