Let me give you a MASSIVE tip, its something I have learned to do myself.

when you finish a step, like filling seams, or something, any step really.  Take photos and look at them.  Use the highest DPI you can so its really big on your screen.

You will see so much on there that you missed with the naked eye its amazing.  It has helped me avoid some serious errors

I totally missed the seam on the back, but indeed it really shows on the pics. To bad, I should take more attention next time...

I finally found the time to put the matt coat on to seal the decals. Al in al this Robogear T-Rex was any easy and relaxed build, just what I needed.

I made some progress om my T-Rex, it is almost finished, it just needs a final mat coat to seal the decals.

The robot had some details painted, a wash and some drybrushing. I also used some decals from my spare box, the yellow marking are from a 1/48 Tamiya N1K1.
The rocket pods where spray painted white, all the detail on the pods and guns where brush painted using Citadel paints.

My brother built one of these just for fun a few years back-a fun, neat little kit from some scifi I'd never heard off.

Looks as though you're off to a great start. Keep up the good work!

Here are some pics of a Robogear T-rex I am building:

All my modelling equipment is still in boxes since I moved. So I thought, lets build an easy model with use of minmal tools. I choose this Robogear T-Rex because of of its simplicity.
Robogear are simple robot models made by a russian company but also sold under Heller and Airfix labels.
The molding is a bit crude but the fit is ok. Since it is intended to be used as a toy it has working features such as spring loaded rocket launchers. Using those as a base I scratched some multi-shot launchers to replace them.
The rest of the model is build straight out of the box.

I have used spray paints and blue-tack masking for the camo patern. The details will be hand painted, then I wil probably do a wash and some dry-brushing.
