Whatever happened with Polar Lights USS Thunderchild??

I can't find out anything about this kit now.

I don't much care about being politically correct.  That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

My memory says that it was Round 2, not Polar Lights.  The announcement was made in 2008, with a scheduled release date for 2009.

Sadly, it seems to have been quietly put on semi-permanent hold because of the economy.  Or so rumor says - I've not heard of an official cancellation.

as i understand it,  it has been shelved   forever.....   round 2 is the newest recreation of polar lights, and amt was the name prior to that.   in addition,  these names were under the trade mark of ertl plastics/

Once they understood the scope of the size and complexity of the build.  they shied away from it... for the  the time being.

in 1987, i sent ertl a idea.  this was to put out a three ship set of enterprises.

they wrote me back, "due to the high cost of injecton molding  this kit would never be built"  this is a direct quote.

several months later it was in the stores.   This should tell you that what company says,  isn't exactly what they will do...

Trek kits are probably on hiatus until the next movie comes out
