Thanks, I checked the model and found an Ertl logo on the base and the saucer section is 10.5 inches across and the nachells are 11 inches, the hull itself is 8 inches long,,,

Checked that site and I figure I have the correct ones from what I see

AdrianUK

Sorry if this seems a bit thick of me,, but how do I know what scale the model is?

Not thick at all. I often have trouble as the kits don't always say.

The saucer window inserts on the edge and all that over-detailing on the saucer hull make me think you have an early release of the 1/350 scale Enterprise. If it's about 36" long assembled then that's what it is, a 1/350.

Fans aren't even sure and there's been much debate at Starship Modeler forums on this. The smaller the # the larger the ship, but the kit marked 1/650 is 22" and the one marked 1/537 is 18" so it's easy to get confused.

If you have the box, you can go to the manufacturer. If it's Polar Lights 1/350 as I suspect it is, they will have decals available.
