TIE Crawler tank conversion
Posted by Rob Gronovius on Sunday, January 25, 2004 5:53 PM

Here are some photos of my TIE Crawler tank in progress. The conversion uses the old MPC TIE Interceptor. Based on the old kit, it is approximately 1/48 scale.

I haven't added the armament yet. I plan to paint the tank whatever gray I happen to have enough of and handy.

Looking great! Who does the conversion kit?

I bought the conversion direct from The Fourth Axis (http://www.thefourthaxis.com) back in March. I just checked their site and I see no mention of the conversion, so it may be out of production. I already had an old TIE Interceptor from when they were being clearanced in the late 90s.

That's pretty darn cool, Major!
I don't reckon you have one of those babies out in the motorpool, eh?
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Base coat of paint went on today, second coat will hit tomorrow. If I get some weathering done, it may be ready for prime time this weekend.

That is some kind of armor, Major if I may call it as such. Very unique and nice.
