Tusken Raider 1/4 scale by Screamin
Posted by NucMedTech on Sunday, November 6, 2011 5:17 PM

Wasn't sure if Ishould Post here or in figures, but decided here would be ok. As the title says This is Screamin's 1/4 scale tusken raider. I built this out of the box, added some remnant fabric from hobby lobby and added some string around the gaffi stick. Anyway here are the pics.

Thanks for taking a look.

Thats really nice, a great job you have done there. I haven't done any large figures, only 35th ones as part of Dio's. But i would like to do some busts and figures. Is the kit itself plastic or resin.

Hey Bish, thanks for looking. Screamin kits are vinyl. First time trying my hand at these, was a little bit of a learning experience.  He stands about 18 inches tall.

Thanks. I have just found their website, they have some nice stuff, i do like the Stormtrooper figure. I have a couple of White Knight metal figures, but they are a smaller scale. I might try and get hold of some of these 1/4th ones. How was the vinyl to work with.

Smeagol- Vinyl kits are not that bad, takes alot more work than resin or plastic. Namely cuting the pieces so they aligned reasonably well with each other. Even so copious amounts of spackling helps.(so did the fabric to hide some of the bigger seams.) Thanks for checking it out though!

Bish- yeah, Screamin has been gone for awhile, got all my kits off of ebay. Pretty reasonable prices too, except for Boba Fett. He always seems to command a high price in 1/4 scale.

hercmech- Thanks for looking, glad you like it.

TD4438-Appreciate the comments, I wsas happy at how the fabric came out. Used Testor's mm acrylics through out. Instructions said enamel would not stick to the vinyl and I didn't want to test it. I suppose if you prime with acrylic first you could use enamel over that. And yes I did prime first, in a way, used Schocoladen brown as a base or primer. Thanks again!

Bsyamato- Thanks for taking a look, he is kind of ugly. LOL

Bish- Good luck. You can find Darth Vader and the Stormtrooper at pretty reasonable prices, Boba Fett on the other hand is usually well over 100 USDs. I did manage to get a 1/6 scale Boba Fett for around 40 UDS. It's by Screamin/Kaiyodo. Looking forward to it getting her hopefully next week.

VanceCrozier- Wish I could put the sound effects with the model, that would be cool. Thanks for looking in!

Hey, super cool! Beautiful job there.

So is the outer cloak fabric? I was wondering how you got the frayed look with vinyl Hmm

Nice thing here is you don't have to bother with the difficult flesh tones Wink

Gamera- I appreciate the kind comments. I did use remnant fabric that I found at Hobb Lobby.

Bish- I wish you luck on your search. Don't expect my Boba to come in until next week some time (secretly hoping for this weekend tho.Wink ) I'll give you a full report and some pics if you like. I also have Darth Vader, Chewbacca, C3PO, and a Stormtrooper in 1/4 scale, be happy to answer any questions for you.

Bish- Got the Boba Fett a few days ago. Real nice kit, good details, and looks like positive contact areas unlike the larger kits. Here are some pics and some of the 1/4 scale Stormtrooper.

Let me know if you would like any other pics.
