finally peiced together the outter ring of DS9.  Started trying to use Cement, it wouldnt hold.  Then i switched to Gorilla Clue apoxy, it fell apart when handled.  Finally, i sanded down as much as I could and used J-B KWIK WELD and i seems to hold nicely.  My question now is, what can I do to cover up the damage without risking breaking the model apart again.  The apoxy has come out of the joints, but im afraid if I take a razor to it it will uncling itself.

I will not sacrifice the Enterprise. We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And *I* will make them pay for what they've done."

What type of cement are you using?

Another question is what are you using to hold pieces together while the cement is drying?  For something like this, I'd use clothespins ( the alligator type, not the ones that are a single piece of wood ).
