Here are a few pictures of my 1/72 Airfix Angel Interceptor...
The last two pics show how bad the fit is on this old kit. The latest re-issue of this kit (which is what I'm building) is a re-issue of the 1980 re-vamped pattern, the basic 1967 kit having been turned into a snap-tite kit. As such, it was not an improvement, apart from the much better decal sheet provided in the 2011 re-release. I mostly used super-glue to do the filling (the darker joints), but some areas were best treated with Milliput epoxy putty (grey-green areas). Thanksfully, the plastic is very soft. Areas (or should I say 'main' areas) to look out for are the nose, very blunt on the 1980/2011 re-issue kit (so that kiddies would not poke their eyes out and Airfix being sued by their parents.. I guess..) which need re-shaping, the leading edge of the fin, incorrect in shape and angle, the fin leading edge air intakes, very poorly molded, the main intake, featuring very thick lips and not much useful detail inside, and the cockpit only furnished by a 'seat' and a generic Airfix jet pilot. This area is now filled with the RetroSF tub, awaiting the other bits of the resin set (which I designed) after painting.
So, not an easy build, but it's still very satisfying..!
