Love seeing this FO stuff in scale. I know a guy that does weapons in 1:1 scale most recently a plasma rifle. one of my upcomings is converting the mobeus invisible man to a NCR elite ranger. He's got the right shape with the trench coat, just needs a scratched head and move the arms around a bit, add in the armor etc...

I asked my son who plays that game to check it out. He thought it was very cool.

thanks guys for the comments,

Gamera, this weekend I was working on a figure that I am calling a "Great Khan" with spikey hair and their symbol on the back of his "t" shirt. I need to start to set up the base, I gues the road comes first, then the sidewalk. I may end up with two more dioramas from this, just too many ideas and I can use the 1/35 diorama stuff that i have been collecting.

Mike: super cool idea and work there!

Somehow I missed Fallout 1 and 2 but I had a blast with 3 and New Vegas, going back though 3 again now with all kinds of crazy mods installed.

Looking forward to seeing how the dio comes together.

I'm been half tempted to try to do something like that myself, Reaper Miniatures has a super mutant looking monster in gaming scale- 25-28mm.

Gerry
But I'd never heard of "Fallout" so I didn't know what to expect. I certainly wasn't expecting a two-headed...cow?

if it makes you feel any better, i did know about Fallout and didn't expect a two-headed cow. The Brahmin in the game are quite funny, since if their owner dies, the cow keeps making it's rounds, just not stopping to sell stuff.

If my scratchbuilding skills were up there and i had the motivation, i'd do one of the cars in FO3. (corvega)

lol oh my, i didnt mean the carrier in 1/35 lol. i was thinking like 1/350 or a bit smaller, the figures would be ungodly tiny (no detail work needed here lol) but it would still be cool.

The weapons are an interesting mix of old and new in both games, i agree there......now they just need to make a real "Fat Man" mini-nuke launcher lol

Logan -  The game uses Washington, DC or California as the basic areas. One thing they missed in New Vegas is the airliner graveyard at Mojave. Not there at all. I have been using a lot of my 1/35 dio supplies for this. There's alot of WWII and modern weapons in the game, so that's easy. I could modify some for the energy weapons, like a laser rifle from a M1A1 Thompson SMG. I have some Thompsons from Italieri that I could fuss around with.A 1/35 aircraft carrier, even 1/3rd of it would be an immense undertaking that I am not up to. Ruined structures are easy to find and modify for this purpose with the openness of the Mojave being a help as well. I'll show more pictures as I start the base of the diorama, among my other projects to clear off my work bench.

Ah that does sound pretty sweet! suprised they havent done a portland, new york, or seattle.....maybe in the future. Sounds like a pretty good dio idea as well.

yeah recreating the vehicles would be quite a chore, since they really dont have a common shape with real cars. Rivet City just kinda piqued my interest cus it yould combine several methods and techniques into one build: An aircraft carrier(with approx. 1/3 of it broke off at the bow), planes (which would have to be kitbashed), water, land, extreme weathering, and challenging painting.

I had a total brain fart when playing Fallout 3: about two weeks after discoverin "the Citidel" i finally realised it was the Pantagon lol.

Logan - I haven't played Fallout 3, just New Vegas. My sons have and I have watched them play. I am looking forward to Fall san Francisco that is being planned as the next installment.

The environment of the Mojave draws me in more. In that the diorama I an envisioning will have the trader caravan coming down a raod angled down the center with some destroyed builings and odds and ends. No destroyed vehicles, that'll be a chore in itself. Model railroading scenery has many of the plants for the Mojave including Joshua Trees. There'll be a small outdoor market area where the caravan is approaching, 4 or 5 figues rolling dice in another area. As well as other color like a small corn field and random vegetation to fill out the area.

How about McCarran Airport with the F-80 hanging in the main lobby and the transport aircraft and trucks lying about?

Looks pretty good to me!

I never played the first three mentioned, just Fallout 3 (was quite literally addicted to it for a while lol) and New Vegas.

IDK about the virus theory (not tryin to argue, just thinking out loud here) but im thinking the radiation from the war that mutated everything else (ghould, deathclaws, radiscorpions, etc.) probably had more to do with it. Great games though! i would like very much for somebody to make kits in 1/6 or 1/12 of the figures in the Power Armor suits.

also, Mike, are you familiar with Fallout 3? if so, "rivet city" would make quite an interesting dio..... espeically if one could display the "capitol preservation society" inside the hanger deck with the P-51 hanging from the ceiling......

Fallout 3 has an awesome retro-futuristic feeling to it. from the styling of the cars, trucks, and aircraft to the dress and building design...pretty cool concept.

Regards, Logan

Thanks Gerry and Mikey for the comments.

Gerry - There are supposed to be bulls as well, but I haven't seen any depicted in the game. From what I have read on the background information, a mutating virus is the cause of the two headed condition. Single headed calves are considered mutants as dual headed is now considered the norm. They are the means of transport for travelling merchants in the game which is a post apocalyptic environment.

Now to work on a base for the diorama I want to depict it in.

HA! That made me laugh.

Not your work, it's really great, well detailed. But I'd never heard of "Fallout" so I didn't know what to expect. I certainly wasn't expecting a two-headed...cow? bull? hmmm Could be both I suppose, 1 head for each.

Anyway, well done. I enjoyed your work.

Fallout New Vegas Brahmin
Posted by telsono on Saturday, April 28, 2012 2:20 PM

I went and kit bashed two cows from the Master Box 1/35 Livestock kit into a two headed Brahmin from the video game Fallout New Vegas. This will be part of a planned diorama incorporating other figures, etc.The broken tail has been fixed. There is still work to be done on it so its a work in progress.
