Oh wow, that sucks. I painted some for a friend years ago, they probably came out back in the '80s - ''90s. Haven't touched much of the IWM re-releases. Sorry to hear they're that poor a quality though.

Looking more closely at them it's pretty easy to see that they're far more detailed than the tiny gaming mechs though.

Oh goodness no. Ral Partha and IWM production quality is crap these days. I've tried doing a few of those but I just can't get interested in them. I prefer these larger scale garage kits that have lots of detail and infinitly more potential for coolness.

Warmuncher

Thank you for your comments.

These models are about 3" tall.  The bases are between 3 to 4 inches wide.

Ohhhhhh, went I first looked I'd assumed they were the Ral Partha gaming mechs. Very cool! Love the mechs and really nice work on the bases too Cool

Correct. The Imperator is sold by Critical Mass Games.  I believe it is also featured in the latest rules book from Gruntz.

Seriously nice looking stuff, especially considering the size!

The Imperator looks exceptional good - is that from Critical Mass?

Very cool!

Nicely done, nice finishes on all of your mecha.  In N-scale, how large or small is each model?

Very good work!

Nice to see the BT 'Mechs, and the customizing to make the Longbow ( originally the Phalanx destroid from Macross ) was particularly interesting.

Giant Stompy Robots - N-Scale
Posted by Warmuncher on Monday, May 14, 2012 9:39 PM

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've posted anything.  Been busy on special projects.  two of which I have vinally finished.

First up I have an N-scale model of the Imperator MKI from a company in the UK who produces models for Gruntz.  The model was slightly modified by me to suite my tastes.  The base is completely scratch built by me.

The next one is an N-Scale Dragon Battlemech inspired by the Mechwarrior 4 video game art.  Again, minor changes were made to the model itself.  The base is completely scratch built.  I did screw up on the very edges of the base and hope to go back at some point and fix it.  Sorry about the mess.  I also want to ponit out that the walls are made of Hydrocal and not foam.

And finally some misc Battletech inspired models.  The blue stuff is suppose to be water and not snow.  Though the bases could probably go either way.

And Longbow - derived from an old 3" exo-squad toy:
