Completed PL 1/2500 Enterprise E
Posted by Mustang8376 on Friday, June 22, 2012 9:30 AM

I posted this elsewhere, but I wanted to share here as well. First time working with a model that required the use of decals to handle the different colors for the paneling.  Alot of fun, but some mistakes

Please let me know what you think.

Looks great to me! Yes

Did you have any problems getting the decals to lay down with wrinkling over the curved sections of the hull?

Not really.  Only problem I had was trying to move the decals once they were laid down.  It seems once it was down it did not want to move without some major effort to do so.  Decal alignment on where it wrapped around wasn't bad either.

Really, really nice build.

Is the Polar lights kit a rerelease from the classic AMT "3-Ship Set" version? I've got both sets (and aftermarket decals, of course), but have never quite gotten around to building them. You've done a fine example to emulate.

Regards

Greg

Thank you, it is the rerelease from Polar Lights.  The build was really easy, took really only a day.  is pent more time on painting and decaling. :)

Took me a minute to realize that's the little one.

Good job detailing that kit!  I had enough fun painting the windows on the bigger kit.

"Mr. Data... well done!"  Smile  The decals came out nicely.

I have an Enterprise-B in production now (more as a learning tool than anything).  Now that I have some decal paper, I intend to change it to the name of my ship from STO.  Huh?

Meanwhile, I'm saving up for THIS one!
