Mechs from Full Metal Panic.....
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 8:21 PM
Anybody out there (Japan this means you!!) make a kit for any of the mechs from the Full Metal Panic anime?
They look a lot like PatLabor, but with more testosterone!
Just curious......

Do you know the name of the series in Japan? Is it the same??

There are quiet a few Mecah kits out that call themselves Full Metal, I think I got one hidden somewhere.

If you can provide me an image of what you are after It will be easier for me help you.

The best place that I can find for anything that can be purchased from Full Metal Panic is on Hobby Link Japan's website(www.hlj.com).
If you do a search it comes back with a book/manga(for lack of better description) on the characters in the series. There's also a website; www.full-metal-panic.com; that has a "hangar" of some of the mechs.
But nothing about kits.
Is this the same as what you were thinking of?

Sorry, the link for the "hangar" is not working for me.

I am not into Gamestation or PC games so I don't know what mecha you are talking about.

Ok, got the link to work.

Quiet a heavy influence by Nadesico and Gasaraki in there too.

So far no mass-produced kits out there yet(AFAIK), if HLJ doesn't show them under "Heavy Metal" than there are non easily available.

There might have been a few limited releases and Event Only Kits though, but you won't find those online or be easily able to get in touch with the sculptors/makers unless you know them directly/personal.

I can take a loom trhough Replicant to see if any were released at the shows, but I think it unlikely as they cannot list all the dealers and their kits at those shows.

Man, I loved Gasaraki!
Didn't see much of it, but I liked what I saw, and the kits looked cool, too.
MMF, were those Bandai? I think they were 1/35.

Hmmm.....I never thought about the similarities!
Alas, I do enjoy anime, the mechs, the sci-fi, the artwork..... But I have to admit, I am totally, utterly, and completely obsessed with Faye Valentine. (sigh)
Even made my girlfriend dress up like her for Halloween!

Now that brings up a good question(albeit a bit off subject), who is YOUR favorite anime babe?

It was a great show. I think I missed 1 episode.

Yup, Bandai released 3 Kits in 1/35 Scale
1.) Raiden
2.) Ishtar Mk II
3.) Shinden
Those were very nice Kits, very well detailed and each came with 2 figures too.

I'll have to hit Tsutaya and see if they have the Gasaraki vids!
