Battletech Huron Warrior Mech
Posted by Warmuncher on Monday, October 8, 2012 11:10 PM

Hi all,

I have for your consideration a small resin gaurage kit of the Huron Warrior from Battletech. This model is in N-scale and stands about 3 inches tall.  I believe that puts this guy in 15 mm for you Table Top wargamers out there.  This model was a bit a of a challenge.  Everything that could go wrong did and then some.  I won't go into details and simply ask for your feedback.

Did the green faceplate come with the kit or did you paint it yourself?

The upper torso is a single piece less the arms.  Hence the faceplate is a molded part of the upper torso.  The faceplate was painted with artist inks and sealed with a gloss sealer.  There isn't any right way of doing windows.  I know a lot of folks like Jeweling, think anime or comic books, and other like solid colors.  I use Jeweling when it makes sense.  It didn't make sense on this model due to the shape of the cockpit.  I repainted this faceplate 9 times before finally giving up and accepting this as good enough.  And Yes, there are eight attempts under the one you see.

To be honest, I never liked most of the TR:3050 mechs, but you did a great job with that kit!

I can't speak for TRO 3050 since I don't have it readily available for reference.  However, this image is from TRO 3055 upgrade.  The artwork is much better than the original publication.  I don't agree with a lot of the designs.  However, I do like the amount of effort the artist put into thier drawings.  They look like they are performing some action as apposed to the older TRO "Standing around" style.

Thank you for looking.
