Pod Racer Kit Bash
Posted by R Fluhr on Friday, October 12, 2012 6:15 PM

Hello everybody I was just cruising Google and found some more inspiration, I have always wanted to kit bash a model using pop cans as engines. I have not found a design I really liked though until now. I also have always liked the pod racers from Stars Wars I The Phantom Menace now I have a design I want to base the model on. I'll post some progress pictures when I get started.

Cool idea! I was thinking you could use two 'Red Bull' cans and decal her as a 'Red Bull' pod racer...

A kitbashed/scratchbuilt pod racer has been on my to-do list for some time.

The red bull idea is alright, but you realy should go for the Apple endorsment for the ipod racer!

I'm sure the Pod Racer class has so much potential for kitbash and scratchbuilding modeler, yet i can't remember ever seeing any original ones. i still haven't  built my Annakin pod racer yet.

OctaneOrange

i still haven't  built my Annakin pod racer yet.

I had one but pooched it badly.  I ended up keeping the parts, though, and the engines ended up becoming parts for  Reaver ship concept ( from Firefly/Serenity ).

Never got a replacement kit.

Cool concept, i keep wondering if its actually a pod racer though? Pod racers are a cockpit attached to two engines via cables.

While the movie had all of them with that setup, there were a few in the video games that had the engines connected with fins.
