That is awesome! Especially since I have recently been watching my way though TOS on Netflix. I've been to the Smithsonian twice and somehow can never find that thing!

There are books out there with all kids of photos of the models. I believe JMorgan is talking about a trilogy of them in the above post. I used to have one that was called something like "The Lucasfilm Archives." Try searching ebay.

Try obtaining the art of star wars , the art of empire and the art of return of the jedi. They have great photos of studio models.

I always start here: www.ex-astris-scientia.org.  I'm not sure if they have all the shots from the Christie's auction, I think there was another sit with additional one. I'll post the other site if I can find it again.

Here's some good coverage of the Enterprise-A.

If you click on "Index" you can find more.

I guess specifics could help...

I'm most in need of the Imperial Star Destroyer, A-Wing fighter, and the Enterprise, TOS and -A variants

Thanks for the links so far!

Without specifics (e.g., Enterprise B),

try: http://www.startrek.com/sitemap

Yes, I know Google Images is out there - but it gives you a shotgun blast of all kinds of images.  I didn't know if there was a specific site or two dedicated to photographic references of the studio models.

Star Wars and Star Trek Reference Photos?
Posted by harbinpr on Monday, January 7, 2013 12:52 PM

Is there a good source for reference photos on the studio models used for the Star Wars and Star Trek movies?  I know the newer movies are CSG, so we're limited to whatever screencaps are available on the Internet, but there must be some good sources of pictures of the studio models on the older films.  If anyone has a link to reference sites, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
