Fantastic Voyage "Proteus mini-sub"
Posted by coffee60 on Sunday, February 17, 2013 10:23 AM

I am currently interested in finding a kit. Wilco Model's offered one year's ago but have since gone out of business, there was talk of Monster's in Motion possibly buying there mold's or creating their own. That's were the trail end's. I would be most appreciative if anybody could steer me in the right direction. Thank you!!

You will want to check out the Proteus resin kit from Crow's Nest Models ( www.crowsnestmodels.com ). It is the best, most accurate Proteus kit available anywhere.

There are two versions of the "Fantastic Voyage" sub and can lead to some confusion.

Movie version aka Proteus (nice!)

TV cartoon version aka Voyager (not nice!) Not Mobieus fault. They did a good job on a goofy cartoon design.

The above are my opinions.

Yes ... but which one comes with the Rachel Welch figure?     <waiting with flesh colored paint on brush>

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

littletimmy, your age is showing!!! Big Smile

She is a nun compared to what is out there today!

That would probably be the Proteus kit. I dont recall if it comes with figures but I do know there is a after market set of figures.
