Star Trek Enterprise Drydock
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 8:26 AM
In the March issue there's a Reader Gallery picture of a Star Trek: The Motion Picture Drydock scaled to fit the Bandai Enterprise. The description says it was built from scratch, (and very likely it was) but are there any after-market resin kits of this thing?

Bob-art, welcome to the boards! As for the drydock, there was a rumor going around that is was bought off of ebay. (There was a link to it on a message board, but it's gone now.) As for a production kit, there's a guy named Chris (He's very good) that is considering casting some up for sale. It's going to be a while, though.

Welcome again, and good luck!

Thanks to Bollod2 for the ebay tip! I found another Trek drydock model listed there over the weekend. It's being offered by the same guy who did the one in the FSM picture. When I looked at the auction pictures, there was a gold seal among them that said "Mike Walston Model Works". I tried a google search with that name, but only came up with a model rocketry site that had nothing to do with this guy. I would much rather buy a model from him directly than go through a bidding war. Has anyone heard of his company, or is it just one guy with a snappy emblem?
