USS Enterprise 11 Foot Model Images
Posted by GAF on Friday, August 9, 2013 7:34 PM

While searching for some pictures showing the secondary hull on the USS Enterprise, I ran across this:

http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=8672

All I could say was... wow.

These are pictures taken during the restoration of the 11 foot shooting model of the USS Enterprise from "Star Trek" (the original one, naturally).  They were taken long before digital cameras, so some may be a bit blurry, but out of almost 100 photos, you can certainly get a good idea of the details.

Some of you may already have seen these, but for those who have not... download the photos and keep them safe.  Big Smile

Yep, great site.  I just wish the current "restoration"  was not so severe.  She looks nothing like she did then.

Pretty sweet. These look like shots taken when the model was restored when donated to the smithsonian. It wasn't in the best of shape, and was missing the collectors on the front of the nacelles. One of those pictures showed the replacements being made.

Cool shots. Makes you think of the history made by TOS.
