Ktkrow BTW - @ Kugai - that is the second time I've seen the 2010 No AfterMarket GB badge. I freakin love that one, whoever thought of it is a genius!!!

I didn't come up with it, and it was an alternative to the main badge. It was also just sick and twisted enough to convince me to sign up for that GB, since I had been reluctant to try much in the way of scratchbuilding enhancements to kits.
Well you have a far steadier hand than I... ;-)
ALL OF YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!
Absolutely impressive out of the box work. Big trek fan!

Cool. Haven't tried blacklight on the ships before. I'll have to check that out. Been quite awhile since I got rid of my old rock posters, etc. that used blacklights- guess I'll have to check out the Spencer's Gifts store again! LOL
Tentacles Pretty neat without any electronics.

Okay. The reason I asked is that I have used neon on some of my Trek kits' engines and deflectors to allow for a glow effect without electronics when shown with a blacklight.
Hi.
No I did not. What I used was an overhead lamp and a LED flashlight that has a bluish light to it. I did use some neon paint, but not a lot though. Since the nacelles have a prismatic cut to them they refract light at certain angles. Pretty neat without any electronics.
Are you using blacklight and neon paint for the nacelle glow?
Looks great to me! Now that's a lot of detail painting, funny I think of UFP ships as being white- I forget about all the little detail stuff in there!

Very nice!
looks very impressive.
Building - WAH 64D
Sweet build and nice effect with the foil. Just goes to show that you don't need the modeler's weight in AF parts to make something look great. Good job!
I like this!!! Awesome looking Enterprise!

Hello once again.
I would like to post some pictures of an original build of mine from 1997. This an original AMT kit from ST: First Contact. This was built straight from the box- no "aztec" decals, no lights, no aftermarket parts, etc. Everything was done by hand and I used references from a VCR (no DVD 's ! ). The stand was painted to look like metal and I used red metal foil for the nacelles and the impulse drive units as an early experiment as an alternative to electronics, etc. It's held up well for a 16 year old model- I only wished they had made it a bigger model though! This was my last Trek model I built sorry to say, but I do have a partial build-up of a Next Generation Klingon Cruiser that I'm hoping to finish soon. Thanks.
