Thanks Nuc, I did want something other than just snow and ice and I am rather pleased with it.

Its a tiny little base, just 10x10cm.

elass, I am not sure what the deal is with Retro SF. I think I bought this from Star Ship modeller in the US. They still have it listed, along with other Retro kits, but they all seem to be out of stock. A pity as I was eyeing up the pits for the TIE and X-wing. Hopefully they will come back in stock soon.

Thanks. I didn't want to go to over board with the weathering. I figured most of these would be one use only, sent off to some remote planet to recce until they were destroyed, self destructed or the power source ran out.

I like it. the weathering is just subtle enough to be an Imperial (not heavy if it was a rebel owned droid). good work on the ground cover too.

Thanks. I had hoped to cover up the rod a bit more, but then the ground cover would have started getting OTT.

It is a pretty well detailed kit, it defiantly compares well to the movie models.

The kit looks pretty well detailed. The ground cover looks convincing. Clear acrylic rod for prop, clever

I just finished this kit, a resin one by Retro SF, for the Hollywood GB. The kit only contains 9 parts, 11 if you include the stand which I didn't use, and took about 20 mins to build. I made my own paint mix to match still's from the movie and did some light weathering. I top its off with fuse wire for the antenna's.

For the base I decided against the obvious Hoth scene. I decided to try out some of the scenic materials I have but haven't yet used, I figured its an Alien world so doesn't have to look like anything on earth.

This is the end result.
