Ok, got the new and improved Colonial Viper MK 1.  After checking for bad parts, and cleaning the release agent. I started.  the first piece I would modify, was the intake.  I used a piece of 3mm blue tape to gauge then correct cut line.  I cut off the bell end and smoothed the cut line.  then I super glued a piece if thin brass mesh on the cut end.  waiting the correct period if time,  I then trimmed the flash from the edges, finally sanding it with wet dry 1000 grit paper.

Below pics are after decals.  I had to paint them and they are not the normal color because I screwed up the decals.

That mesh is going to be a nice touch.

They are great! Wonderful detail and thoughtful engineering.  Pretty close to 'Shake 'n' Bake' kits as you can get.

Is that Photo Etch you have inside the engines cavities?  It looks good so far. Where did this "Improved" kit come from?  Or are these after market parts for the main kit?  Who's kit is this?  The New Moebius kit or the old Revel Kit?

You can find me on Photobucket under Warmuncher

I am a huge fan of BSG and of these fine ships. Moebius has quite a unique 'blueprint' style to their instruction book and they keep the whole building experience 'in character'. Cool touch. The kits are very well engineered. MY only issue is the decals. I found all decals in all the kits I've done to be brittle and a bit hard to work with. I actually masked and painted all red markings on my Viper Mk1.

well, I messed up!!!!!   I was sealing my first set of decals.... I grabbed the wrong can, shook the not out of it, and did not re-read the label.   wrong can.  now with the whole thing stripped, decals as well,  I have to repaint it. but on the good side, I can use  my new air brush station to do it.

I've posted a few more.  The color change was due to me screwing up the original decals.

Well ok, here is the aft fuselage with wings temp installed.  I cut the attachment point so the wings could be slipped on or off.
