Classic Star Trek series Enterprise colors

Does anyone know where I can find colors for areas of the classic Enterprise besides a lousy instruction sheet?

Looks like Google has some pretty good articles. Do a search for "tos enterprise colors". Lots of opinions, but you should be able to narrow it down after reading up on some of those.

"Some say the alien didn't die in the crash.  It survived and drank whiskey and played poker with the locals 'til the Texas Rangers caught wind of it and shot it dead."

Here's a link to the Air & Space museum's restored studio model:

airandspace.si.edu/.../artifact.cfm

And some of the restoration photos: www.modelermagic.com

and on pages 20-21 there is a painting guide http://www.dlmparts.com/images/Assembly_ManualE.pdf

Many thanks. I'll frequent the Smithsonian site for more than trek!

Remember, there are 2 ways to paint it...the "by the book" way and the "as it appears" way.

The "by the book" way would be to match the paint exactly.  But the problem here is that when they film the model it has different color lights shining on it that act like filters therefore changing the appearance on screen.  So you'll have an accurate paint job but it will look a bit off.

The "as it appears" way is just like it sounds...paint it the way it appears to look.  This is more than likely the look that most modelers are really going for.

The 1/350 scale Enterprise kit lists very accurate colors on the side of the box. I did mine according to their recommendations and it came out looking great. I thought it would be too green, but when it was done  it was perfect!

They did print an error, here is a link to the color chart with the error corrected on the right side.

Hope this helps

I don't have the 1/350th kit but will try the color chart. Many thanks and your model looks good!
