Sorry I didn't reply till now, I just found your post tonight.
Thank You!! It took me a couple of years to finish it. I just redefined some details and add some of my own.
I just got Moebius rerelease of the classic Galactica. After looking at some pictures online and the new kit I've found some small details that can be corrected.
Thank You for looking
"Untill That Board of Inquirey, I'm Still Captain! First, Find Cyrano Jones! And Second. Close That Door!"
WOW! Great for a "small" scale.
Thank You! Its a Great kit. But if you put the details I put into mine it will take you awhile.
Roy, VERY impressive indeed. Big BSG fan and have yet to get the Galactica and the Pegasus (on the list).

Thank You. Sorry to say but I hand drilled all windows with a # 77 drill bit, I wish I could have cut in square windows, after drilling all those windows I could have gone down a couple of sizes in drill bits.
The fiber optics were a little loose, it all worked out in the end. I just wanted to light all the lighted areas on the Galactica I could.
As for the base, its not lit. I used an old Ral Partha paint shade, Pearl. I've been using this shade for stars on my bases for a wile. It look's like glowing stars in the right light.
Thank You. All the battle damage is black water color and pastel chalk.
If you used fiber optics why do all of the windows look square? How did you pull that off? I like the fact that you extended the lighting to the past the gator head along the lower hull. Nice job. When I built my Galactica I didn't have any fiber optic so I passed on attempting the lighting past the gator head. You have inspired me to try something different when I do my next battlestar. Great job.
Hey, did you also light the stars on your base?

Thanks.
Just put her on display at the hobby shop where I bought it. Looked over at the shelf there saw the same kit, Just a couple years removed and a lot of details added .
Thanks Roy.
She looks real nice!
No Problem. On, a couple of them I wish I would have flattened the end of a few of them. But no I just cut them off as close to the kit I could get.
I wish I could have cut them closer in the sandwiched part of the forward section.
Oh well, They still glow.
Thanks Roy! Sorry I wasn't clearer, but I wanted to know if you just cut the ends flush, sanded them smooth, mushroomed with heat, or something else.
I haven't played with fiber much, but I've had a hard time seeing light emitting from the end unless I was looking almost dead onto the fiber.
Don't know what to tell you. I used to be able to post pictures. I cant find the correct settings to post pictures.
All I could say is to go to Flicker.com and look for my page =OA=RoyFokker, Does the YouTube link work?

For the colors? I used Tamiya Clear Red on a couple of probs on the bow. But the fiber optics are just glowing to the color of the LED's. Warm white for the windows & cool white (The Light Blue Glow) for the rest. Except the 6 Red LED's I used for the Landing Bay docks.
I hope this ansewrs your questions.
Thank You for Looking.
Looks really good Roy!
Did you do anything special to the ends of the fiber?
I finally finished my Moebius Battlestar Galactica kit. I started this Feb 2nd 2011, and I just finished it Jan 29th 2014. In this YouTube video I added some pictures from when I started modifying it. http://youtu.be/JTrsPvFnpUI
I noticed that the lights were a little dim, I put in a new 9 volt into the hook up, Made a huge difference.
