1/4222 Errant Venture (Star Destroyer major rework)

I did this as a contest entry for Scale Model Addict's (SMA) Big Spring Contest 2012 and won second place in the sci-fi category!

Base kit is Ertl's 1/4222 Star Destroyer
Add-ons:
AMP's bridge & spine
Hacker's Venator engine nozzles
home-made decal scribing guide
home-made deflector dome replacements (soon to be a product release!)
TONS of fiber optics & LEDs & greeblies

I practically rebuilt the kit by sanding off all raised details, rebuilding the super structure side wall details, building the trenches from scratch, yada yada yada.

If you want to dig through my 2 months of in-progress posts, check them out HERE: http://nicholassagan.wordpress.com/?s=Errant

This last picture is a composite and HUGE....so right-click on it in a new tab to see all the little details...

Nice job, Nicholas. An interesting subject choice, to say the least.

Nicholas,

Amazing work to say the least. One day I hope to have the imagination and skills for something like that. Now, the Errant Venture is converted into a Gambling/Resort ship correct? I like how it still has the turbo lasers and all the ships docked with it. Just to much to describe.Bow Down

Thanks guys! This was a REALLY fun build. I pretty much cobbled the design together based on a lot of the variations the ship underwent throughout it's life. It's sort of a META-Venture!! BTW, if any one is interested, I have the scribing guides available...
