AMT's Enterprise Refit "Limited Edition"
Posted by NucMedTech on Sunday, April 6, 2014 3:11 PM
Hi all, I just finished my Enterprise last night and thought I would post some pics for you. It is AMT's old limited edition with lights and sound. The kit is okay, I had real problems with seams and the pylon joints. The panel lines are really wide for the scale, figured the only way to fix that would be to fill all the panel lines, sand smooth and rescribe; which I promptly did not do. Ended up removing a lot of panels while trying to fill the seams, so the top of the nacels ended up pretty smooth. All in all in came out to be a good 3 foot model. Looks good from 3 feet away, lol. Onto the pictures. I hope you like it. -Stephen

That looks like a flawless build. Well done. Well done indeed!

Looks great, especially the paint job.

I know what you mean about the pylons.  I gave up on making mine an Enterprise, and did a little conversion.  I think the conversion was easier than trying to fix those seams. ;)  I admire your tenacity.

Thanks guys, you really are too kind. I ended up using 5 min. epoxy to hold the pylons to the hull and then the nacelles to the pylons. Come to think of it I pretty much used epoxy for the whole model.

Very nice!  I built this as a teenager 20 years ago and all I remember about the kit was that the pylons were a real bear to attach.

Beautiful work! I've got a bunch of starships in my stash but all that crazy Aztec panels scares me off from building them. Yours looks perfect!

I did build one of these kits back about twenty years ago, the pylons went on fine but one ended up breaking some time afterward.
