Does anyone know where I can get a Viper kit? I built one many years ago while the show was still on.

Have you tried eBay? I've got a few for as low as $20 each (plus s&h).
And if you're really into BSG, you might want to try the MMI (http://www.coldnorth.com/millennia_models/index.html) detail sets.
Their latest is a Scarlet Viper conversion kit, which turns the venerable Colonial Viper into a Scarlet-class Colonial Viper.

1) Avoid at all costs the absurd remake of Battlestar Galactica which Sci-FI is producing. The script is full of pornographic references, and principal characters are completely different. Very little of what you like about BG is in this new pilot.

2) I have been hunting high-and-low for the Battlestar Galactica ship details produced by SubLight. Anyone know if some other company has picked up the molds, or anywhere an SubLight set can be had?

I hear the Vipers will remain, I was reading the Sci-Fi channel's magazine article about it. Female Starbuck, there was mention of a villainess as well. Worth a watch regardless of your feelings towards regarding the successor to BG: TOS. Who knows, it may break out as did Star Trek TNG. I never thought a new cast could replace Kirk/Spock/Bones, but they did.

Robin, I agree that we should be open to new ideas. There was a LOT of resistance to TNG, but ultimately it surpassed the original in almost all segments of the fan base. Nevertheless, BG, whose premise was something of of grand quest, with great demonstrations of self-sacrifice, nobility, and unity, has not been fairly treated. Ronald D. Moore, whose exploits behind the scenes of Star Trek are well-known, has "re-envisioned" the original prestine idea into a pornographic display with corrupted officers having sexual interplay with non-organic beings, in at least two lengthy scenes, and promises that sensuality is the theme of the new vision. Utterly absurd, and Moore is overcome by his own hubris. I admit that I will plan to watch, but will continue my obligation on a commerical break-by-break basis. Just my $0.02. :-)

Strange that you say to avoid the new BG in one message then admit that you plan to watch it initially at least.

SubLight made some nice stuff. I have their Star Destroyer detail set. Too bad they decided to move on to other endeavors.

MMI(?) makes some nice detail sets for the Colonial Viper. I've got the seated pilots and cockpit interior. I haven't decided to buy the landing gear or the launch rail yet. Don't know which I want. Any opinions?
