Well done. I love "what if" creative changes to models. Those things are walking tanks and SHOULD be painted like a tank! Well done!

My guess is the Empire did not feel the need to camo their equipment.  Soldiers were expendable, and battles were won by overwhelming numbers and massive equipment advantages rather than being able to hide.  You don't strike fear into your enemies by being hidden, but by announcing that you don't care if they see you coming and daring them to resist.  Think about the Death Star as an example.  Just my 2 cents.
