                        Warhammer gives you a lot of freedom in terms of paint schemes.
                        What model are you building.
                        I built a few Eldar pieces and really had fun with them. I used a lot of matt greens, etc.

                        Brush painting Citadel colours works absolutely great, but not on anything large like a tank. I use it all the time on all my armour, airplane, and obviously warhammer, kits.

                        I tried airbrushing theirs, but that didn't work out so well at all..

                        Well, I finished it, and it ain't pretty. However, I bought a similar one and followed a "sponge on" paint scheme. It worked fantastic.

                        The model comes with three figures, and wanted to replace them with The Three Stooges. It's rather difficult since all the minitures are wearing helmets.

                        Never the less, I have one of the soldiers about to bean the other with a live shell! Smile [:)]

                        The fun thing about Warhammer is that anything goes. I have even seen the Chocolate Chip camo from the US uniforms used. Three colors that I think look good together are a dark grey, black and a grey-blue. Black, white and grey also look good. You can use a hard edge splinter camo or a block style like the British Berlin Bergade.
                        Can't wait to see pics on what you decide.

                        As for the paint. I don't use acrylics but have heard that thining with denatured alchol works pretty well.

                        First of all good luck on your project. I'm not so sure about the paint scheme but I think something like an urban camo would look nice, personally I'd go with what's on the GW website and just alter the color a bit (did you check forgeword?) What tank are you building?
                        About thinning the paint, you can use water, the Citadel paints are water-based acrylics.Thumbs Up [tup]

                        I am in the process of building a Warhammer 40k tank. After getting fed up with the brush-on paint quality of Citadel paints, I have moved to airbrushing.

                        I ended up using Dark Engine Gray Acryl. The guns are still black and silver.

                        I need suggestions on a camo scheme. The GW website has several ideas, but nothing I can work with. I was hoping for ideas from the group.

                        Since this is not too realistic, WWII paint schemes won't work (well actually they will. I could just leave it Dark Gray)

                        I am just trying to figure out where to go from here.

                        Oh, and if anyone knows how to thin Citadel paints (for airbrushing) that would help. Having spent about $50 on those paints that I won't use kind of sucks. Banged Head [banghead]
