Is it really going to happen this month?

After endless delay after delay, HLJ is still listing the Finemolds Slave I as a March release. http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?FNMSW-04

I wouldn't be surprised if the kit gets a last minute delay, release dates in japan tend to be very flexible.

Looks like Lucas had quiet a few changes to the kit and it's designs as it 's original release date was last year prior to the Tie-Interceptor..

I'm sorry is it just me or does it just not do what I was hoping for ? It doesn't look any better than the old Revel/Monogram kit , maybe it's just me . Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid]

ERTL had the basic shape right, but the new cockpit interior is spot-on fantastic! Don't know if it's worth $61 though...

I think if you take a closer look at (and actually build) both kits, the differences will become blindingly apparent. The detail on the FineMolds kit is soooo much better than the old MPC kit.

$61?? That is a tad pricey, to be sure, to be sure...

Maybe it's the photos...I tend to agree with Walt... I don't see $61.00 worth of model there.

The pix in that link do not really highlight the diamond-cutting sharpness of the molding and detail. I saw a few of those same pix in this month's Model Graphix magazine, and it looks pretty darn good to me.

But I've never been a fan of that ship, so I won't be getting it, no matter how great a model it is.

Now, a nice new Star Destroyer or Falcon...THAT I'd be interested in.

Oh don't get me wrong , I'm sure it's a good quality kit . However if you take a little extra time on the MPC kit it can be in the same caliber and it's bigger , so even more detail can be added to it . As to Fett fans , I know I'm one and if the kit wasn't $61 I might see the justifacation at buying it , but not when I can buy the MPC kit for as little as $5 and super detail it , and as proff I'll be doing just that , I've never seen a super detailed Slave 1 so maybe it's about time we do .Approve [^]

i finally got to sit down and actually build the fine molds tie fighter.it is a beautifully molded and designed kit.i've pretty much built mostly ertl kits and maybe i'm just used to mistake after mistake but this kit is flawless.the only regret is that i prefer a larger scale.if every kit is designed as well as this one i'll learn to deal with the price.i have ertl kits home that i've started that need so much in the way of correction that i've just abandoned the entire project due to lack of time.i just wish that fine molds was handling the star trek kits.
