Ok now don't laugh!

This was done about 10 years ago: the detail is good but the parts fit is a bit off. I wish I still had my unbuilt kits of Darth Vader's and a regular TIE fighter. Shy [8)]

What's to laugh about? Looks good to me. At least you finished yours. Mine is still in the box partially finished.

Why would anyone laugh? What's wrong with Star Wars models? It really looks great. If I didn't know better, I would think it was a original filming model!! Great job!!

Thanks for the kind words guys! Shy [8)]
I used my girlfriend's black shirt for the background, stuck a 2" wide roll of masking tape inside and plopped the model on the shirt...

I hope your girlfriend wasn't in the shirt when you used it! JK.

I'm actually working on that now. Did you find it very difficult to construct? I find the instructions and painting guide to be terrible!!! Any hints that you could send me would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks all for the compliments !

I didn't have much trouble other than misaligned seams...it went together quicky. It was easier to spray the red markings; the decals looked a bit thick. For final painting , I sprayed dark gray over the entire model. I then sprayed Light Seagull gray , misting it on and allowing the dark gray to show through on the panel lines. I sprayed the red markings on, then went back over the panel lines with a mist of dark gray and rust. I then ran a dirty black wash in the deep panel recesses, then drybrushed with light grey over raised details.

Excellent job. That looks awesome!!

Is that the same kit that comes with the circle of plexi-glass so that you can display it in-flight? Cause, I've got that one and the Tie Fighter too, both sitting on my un-built shelf.

Thanks, Ray!

I believe you are right; it did have a clear stand but I am not sure where mine wound up...
