Good find! The guy that makes them said he was not going to make any more. I think he only cast about 50 kits, so good thing you found one.

Well I found one of these on eBay and grabbed it. Pretty excited to build it when it arrives. It's going to really mess up my schedule of other things to build. But such is the life of a hobbiest.

Pinkbooger, thanks! I know what you mean, I try to build tanks and planes and cars (really have a good stash of each) but always end up putting those aside to build a Star Wars model.

The power source is a 3 AA power pack that is housed in the box underneath.

Tesoe, appreciate the comments. Looking forward to your build!

Hunter, thanks for looking in.

TB, thanks for the comments. Yeah the drilling was not fun at all and I have 4 more Star Destroyers to work on. I think I need to find a small power drill somewhere or face the facts that I will have some really buff forearms soon!

Hi Jaykat, I got your pm but for some reason it would not let me reply. If you get JPG's  kit (which i think is the only one out there)it will come with the turrets. It is just a matter of cutting them from the pour stub and gluing  them in place. Post your Venator I would like to see it. I have one that I am going to start on soon.

I absolutely love Star Wars and this build makes me want to build exclusively Star Wars models. lol. Not sure if you mentioned this and I missed it but what did you power the lights with and where did you store the power source?

Oh Wow !

I had missed this ! I never thought you could get a flying bowl of rice noodles !

Now you know how I felt after drilling out all the ports on the large Titanic Model for lighting ! Fun ain't it ( Being sarcastic here ) . You are doing one heck of a job though . I am going to check in from time to time to finish reading and seeing all this . T.B.

This is fantastic. I'm trying to plan out my Republic Star Destroyer build and this is really inspirational.

Hi Stephen! I created an account on FSM right after I saw your model! Such a beauty! One question I've been trying to figure out is how everyone makes the six quad turrets around the command structure? I'm about to purchase an acclamator kit myself! Just finished my  Venator!

Gamera and Silentbob, thanks for coming along with me on this journey. I do appreciate your comments it is encouragement to press on. This kit from JPG was a pleasure to work on and yes it is a little intimidating to start cutting up an expensive kit. A lot of planning went on before the first cut though.

Thanks again.

Stephen

Wow, she turned out great! Love the weathering and battle damage.

I'll admit you did fill me with more than a little trepidation when you took this expensive chunk of resin and started drilling chunks out of it but the final results are spectacular!

Well, I got some work done, unfortunately the Acclamator came down with a bad case of the clamps.

At least it only lasted for 24 hours and then the clamps fell off.

I started some weathering with a brown wash.

Hi Bish, thanks for dropping back in. I am ok with some of the pain bleed, but there are some areas to touch up. Something to pass the time until your next Star Wars GB. Working on the led and stand right now so it gives me some time to think about weathering. I am kind of think of a ship middle to late Clone wars that has a few battles and planetary assaults under it's belt. With that in mind it leaves a lot of room for weathering effects.

I have not check this in a while, wow, she does look really nice. Until i read you last comment, i thought that paint bleeding was chipping. I think it loks very effective.

This is from the kit maker on the starshipmodeler.com site. He is not even going to sell them in the store, so if you want one you have to boogie on over and sign up. I am not sure of finescale advertising rules so I removed the guys contact info, you will have to go to the site to order.

The last of the Victories are in the Starship Modeler Store. I will not be doing any more of those, at least in the next year or more. I'm moving on toone last run of the 1:2256 Acclamator.

Details: Measures A little under 14" L, 8" W, and 3" H. 24 pieces, including new 3D printed laser turrets.

Pictures of an excellent buildup by Stefan Hacker can be seen here. Parts layout of the kit can be seen here. Sorry, those are old pictures, but they are the same parts, in gray this time LOL.

Price? $135 with free USA shipping, $40 worldwide (It's a big box, and postal rates are outrageously high)

If you would like CLEAR engines for lighting, please add $20. You will get: all 4 engines, plus the bridge section(Bridge and bridge spine in clear. No way you're fitting fiber optics in that bridge if solid.

Most likely, this will not be sold in the SSM Store, so this is your last chance to get one before this goes away forever! Happy shopping

Lighting conundrumTongue Tied.

Okay, let's start with what I am using. I have a 3 AA power pack (4.5 volts), 4 blue leds, 3 clear leds, 1 red led and 1 yellow led. All of my leds came from christmas lights. (which is a pretty inexpensive way to get them, especially during holiday clearance.) So this is what i get:

I can power the 4 blue leds and they work, same with the 3 clear.

If I add the 3 clear and 4 blues together they light up without any problems.

If i add the red and yellow to the 3 clear leds only the color ones will light, this also happens when I add the red and yellow to the blue leds.

The red and yellow will light when they are connected to power.

Now, all the positive terminals are combined as well as the negative. So positive to positive and negative to negative. I tried wiring in series, but that did not work for me. Now to my question(s).

When my lights are wired together and only some of them are lighting, Is that a power source problem? Do I need to up the voltage. I thought that if you did not have enough voltage the lights would just be dimmer. Having some light up and others not was something unexpected for me. I have verified that all the lights work and all the connections were solid. Any advice will be useful and thanks in advance.
