I'm flattered you'd use it as a ref.

By all means, if you need any info, just ask away.

Ohhh, thanks for the photos. I was wondering how you packed all that in something not much bigger than a fat pen! If I can work up the courage I might try something like that on my next kit.

And thanks also for the painting advice, I really the way you did the shading on the main hull. I may use your photos there for a reference if you don't mind?

Thanks for the kind words Gamera.

The gear/motor combos were something I bought from eBay, a few bucks tops. The LEDs were on a simple flasher circuit. The only issue is the tight space, so the LEDs had to be those tiny SMD and the nacelle interiors had to be ground down as well as some of the gearbox housing (brass).

In terms of painting, it was real simple, a pencil, some shades of white/grey Vallejo and a few oversprays of transparent green and yellow mixed in Future, then mixed in Matt varnish to get a haze.

Wow, that's amazing! Are the nacelle lights, motors, gearboxes, etc something you designed and built yourself or bought?

Plus the paint job you did is perfect. I'm working on the same kit, if mine comes out a tenth as good I'll be delighted.

Here's a initial video of the bussard test:

I have put the LEDs on a flasher circuit so they blink as well.

Thanks for looking, any comments or critique appreciated.

I had the Polar Lights 1/1000 Enterprise in the stash, so I decided to use it as a backdrop for the new 1/350 TOS kit when it hits the shelves this month.

The Enterprise responded to the Defiants distress signal only to find it a derelict in the process of fading into another universe by the hands of the Tholians.

I put some LED lighting and tiny motors and gearboxes in the bussards and painted to reflect the green glow as it fades away.
