I'll be starting soon. After I finish up the smaller Revell kit. I already have all my LEDs and fiber for this build. And most assuredly I'll be doing a WIP thread!

Hope you get yours soon too. MTFBWY

You need to get one. It's a big, yet simple kit. Only 105 parts. There are no "tiny" detail parts like you would find on a Bandai kit for example. Nice big well detailed parts. The engine block, being one piece, is amazing.

If this were a Bandai kit there would be hundreds of tiny greeblie parts to press on. This should be a quick build for someone who is building out of the box. Of course I'm lighting mine so it will take a while.

Looking forward to digging in.

Your kit you have, when 900 parts you glue a master you will be, LOL.  Ok now I need to get off my duff and shun the fear of being schnookered. Look out Kremlin Armornut wants his Star Destroyer.

Another oddity. I got the email saying it arrived yesterday at 3:07pm at my local PO. I got another email this morning saying it arrrived at my local PO at 5:24am today. How can it arrive at the same place twice, 14 hours apart?

I don't know. I'll be watching for the mail truck this morning!

Ditto

And, I want a same scale NCC 1701 Enterprise for it to battle!

The Zvedza kit is approximately 1:2700 scale, so a 1:2500 scale Enterprise would be a fairly close match

ALL OF YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!

Whew... that's a relief!

I was hoping you wouldn't have to resort to force choke on some of the customs officials.

Well, it magically appeared in my home town PO without going thru the main hub in KY. Very odd..... Should be here tomorrow.

I Googled "what is ISC NY" and reading a bunch of Q&A it seems like packages could go thru quick or sit there for several weeks or even months!

People who had their kits sent thru EMS got them quicker but no tracking number provided.

Robiwon, my ISD cleared the sorting guys in NYC and was in customs as of yesterday.  I hope the Empire has not confiscated our kits!  I have two coming in, one for a friend.

Oh gosh, so it's hard to tell where it might have ended up. I'd be pretty damn upset too. Crossing my fingers they find it and get it to you. Shheeeeeesssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

I looked up exactly what ISC NY is and it's not Customs, it's an International Sorting Center. Apparently it would have gone thru Customs berfore going to the sorting center.

Bummed out right now....

Ouch Robiwon, hope they find it! Odd that it made it here all the way from Russia and then gets lost in NY customs... Confused

Not to make light of your situation but I hope it didn't end up on some desert planet with two lost droids and plans for a doomsday weapon...

Well, I have filed a claim with the US Post Office for finding a lost package! My SD landed in NY on the 22nd and has not been tracked since, no movement out of NY, no new tracking info. The most it would have spent in NY would have been a couple hours before it was shipped out again. It has now been one full week with no movement. With the claim I filed hopefully the lost SD will be found, but at this point I'm holding very little hope. It may be gone for good.

I have one of the new X-wing fighters, it is an actual glue together kit and to me it looks like a new mold. I have compared it to the old MPC kit and the difference is night and day. Granted I got caught up in the Force Awakens craze and did by the snap tight ones. That being said a good coat of primer, some widgets andsome effort they may be good looking models. Thanks Bish for the info, yessir one of those cruisers would be cool too. Maybe a forced perspective display???

Disney has not neglected the home market for Star Wars models (if your a child). Revell USA has the license to make and sell Star Wars models here in the US. The problem is Revell does not think that serious adult modelers build sci-fi. That's why we get to choose from a handfull of McDonalds Happy Meal toys to slap together in 5 minutes. Now, Revell is starting to realize this major mistake by only marketing to little kids by reboxing the old Fine Molds kits for sale in the US. While they were great in their day they lack in new standards set by Bandai in regards to accuarcy and detail. And, more importantly, cost!

Robiwon you sir are strong with the Dark Side LOL, thanks for sharing the unboxing video...now I want to go to Russia and buy one. Sorry I'm not completely tracking on how to go about getting one here, but hey I have 250 unbuilt kits of all genre so waiting awhile really won't hurt. Bish sorry sir ya lost me on the second ship, and we were doing so well to, i think this is the most I have posted on a thread in years. Kinda fun.

Tantive IV is the ship the Star Destroyer is chaseing in the opening scene of the opriginal. Its good to seeyou posting.

I think the problem for Zvezda selling their Starwars kits outside Russia is Disney. They seemto have a tight reign on things. Its that who told bandai they can only sell in japan and they who gave Revell the rights for Europe. I think Zvedza are firtunate in that they already had a generallicence to produce Disney subjects before Disney got holdof SW, but it looks like that licence is for Russia only.

But with Revell not selling directly in the US, Zvezda confined to Russia and bandai not allowed to sell outside japan, Disney seems to have neglegted a licence for their own home market. Seems a bit odd that. O for the days when like likes of AMT, Airfix and a lot of others producing Starwars kits.

No worries, your welcome although in truth I haven't seen Suicide Squad.......yet...... Mmmmmm. One of these days I may get brave enough to make contact on the other side of the Iron Curtian, especially when you start posting WIPS of that critter.

Thanks, and just to be clear, that's not me in the video but a fellow member on another forum.

Yes, Zvezda kits (aircraft, ships, ect) are sold in the states. The license for those kits allows it. For the Star Destroyer however, the license states it can only be sold in Russia. To get one here in the states a hobby shop in Russia will have to sell it to you, usually on eBay. The Russian distributor for Zvezda can't send a shipment of those kits to US hobby shops, only Russian hobby shops. Same will be when Revell of Germany reboxes it, ROG are not distributed to US based hobby shops. You would have to buy those from a German hobby shop and have it imported or on eBay.

You will not see a Zvezda Star Destroyer on a Hobbytown USA shelf.

Oh and armornut, I like your quote based on Suicide Squad!

I re-read your post Robiwon and i think I get it, like I said I can probably hold on until they are sold here in the states. Zvezda is already here in aircraft, tanks and ships, shouldn't be to long....I hope. Thanks again for the teaser video.

You can get ROG kits here, but not directly. You can only get them thru a third party like eBay. Someone has to buy them there and then turn around and sell them here. Same was with the Bandai SW kits and the Russian release of the SD. They just don't have the license to sell in the US, or they risk loosing thier license. That's what happened to Bandai when their SW kits first came out. Bandai and their distributers were told in no uncertain terms by Disney to stop selling kits directly to the US. Revell USA and Revell of Germany are two different companies run by different people.

Got ur. I have seen a lot of the RoG kits such as the U-Boats and Star wars kits so assumed they were sold in the stores.

Cool, I'm not sure George Lucas had any idea how he would influence young minds ( and modelers) with his saga....glad he did. I too will be squirreling money away so i can get mine when it hits the states. Don't lie Bish we both know we're gonna pass that thing over our heads during construction and make turbo laser noises. LOL.

I don't know what your talking about Whistling

Now, if we can just have a Tantive IV in the same scale and i can talk my Mrs into flying that around........

Sorry, double post.

There are several unboxing videos out there already, but they are all in Russian! Here is one done by a member of the RPF forum on his recently acquired Zvezda kit...in English.

Thanks guys, (Bish, robiwon), I will be waiting with bated breath for one of those MASSIVE Star Destroyers. When I first saw Episode IV and saw the bow come out of the top of the screen OMG...COOLEST scene EVER... I was seven. Over 100 veiwings later and I still get chills. Perhaps I will PM one of y'all if my patience slips and wallet gets REALLY fat. Thanks again.

Seems like you and are of the same age, i was 7 when i first saw it in 77. I still get a thrill when i see the front of that ship appear at the top of the screen and it seems like it takes ages for it to get to the back. And i still get a chill when vaper steps through that door just like i did almost 40 years ago when vader was completly unknown to me.

Amazing what effect it has. I got some cash for Xmas and that has been put away and added to for when Revell release theres.
