1/55 transformer jet fire 1984
Posted by armyrn on Sunday, April 23, 2017 2:00 PM

Good day

I was helping in my parents  basement  came across  a box containing  the transformers  version of the g1 valkiere  in near mint condition. The plane is white with a few chips of red missing  on the nose. The armor  needs to be panel lined.  So how do I touch it up, weather and add weapons? Since I just want to display it .

Hi armyrn. I am not familiar with this kit. Perhaps some pictures of its current condition might be helpful.

Looks a lot like the Revell Robotech Changers jet/robot model kits. As a kid, I built the Nebo (Orguss) and the camouflaged Orbot (Valkerie). I still have the red Axoid I bought a few years ago. I think it is the one (when painted in original red/white scheme) they originally used for Jetfire.

HI Rob. Yep, it's essentially the same ship painted differently. Jetfire was based on the VF-1S Valkyrie  (4 head guns) which Revell boxed as "Vexar" (bottom left on your pic). Axoid was a VF-1J with 2 head guns and Orbot was the 2-seater VF-1D. Jetfire also included the booster pods and FAST packs from the "Super Valkyrie" which appeared in several Macross episodes.

Yeah, I had been searching for copies of the instructions for the original kit that Axoid should be built into with the red and white scheme since the decals were unchanged.

Here's a photo of the original kit box to give you an idea of the original red & white color scheme.

This is the color & decals page from the kit. Sorry, it didn't scan very well.
