I picked up this rather unusual kit at the Nationals.
It is some sort of dino/bird mech from the Zoids realm, but what caught my attention was what seemed like a light saber in the pilots hand. The pilots helmet looks strangely like a storm troopers. So an idea struck me at once that this could be a Jedi of the Old Republic on patrol maintaining peace and justice. After consulting my son for about 10 seconds he agreed and 25.00 dollars later this bird thing came home. Looking over the kit I found that it was very toy like even coming with a wind up mechanism to make the thing walk. The figure is "very" much a toy with open joints, however the kit had many redeeming qualities and lots of opportunity for detailing. So armed with a giant box of spare parts, lots of wire, and epoxy sculpt let's begin. First thing gone the wind up mechanism. Next the head and neck is removed and replaced with a "BIG" gun. I have done a lot dry fitting to get some ideas and where other details can be added.
I have rebuilt the feet and continuing to add details.
I made a scale change went from 1/25 to 1/32. Mecha are the perfect combination of armor and aircraft. I also did some more wiring.
Detailing the legs and the connections to the body.
Now moving on to the cockpit. Here is the progress to this point.
I decided it needed a pilot in the cockpit so I added a Aires Mig-21 pilot and seat. A little painting and few modifications and he will fit right in.
Detail painting begins.
There you are up to date. More to come and thanks for looking.

Yep and more coming.
A small update...
How have I missed out on this? Very cool build, Mr. T! It looks like something straight from the pages of "Heavy Metal" magazine - fantastically imaginative! Nice work!

Um...Thanks!
Kinda moving back to the legs. I decided to do some foot work.
Anyway it is as far I have got so far.
Nice move with the larger foot pads. Gives it a more stable stance. Like it overall so far.
Yeah, the bigger foot pads look good.
Reminds me of the old video game 'Joust' for some reason!
Thanks guys!
Foot pad work continues....
Again, love how she's coming. Really like the big traction pads, with a grip like that she'd probably be able to jog up a 45 degree slope!
Foot pads complete now.....I think. Also added emblems of the Jedi Order.
Next steps.....paint.
silentbob33I really like how you're doing this, all those extra details really make it pop
How about a little paint.
