Horizon Mad Cat Rebuild.
Posted by RoyFokker on Saturday, November 25, 2017 5:31 PM

After cleaning off the latest dust on my old Horizon Mad Cat kit one of the old windows I glued and presed in fell off, Well this kit is in need of a Cockpit update.

After poping it apart, I don't know what I was thinking when I built the first one.

About now you might be wondering where's the pictures? I hope this works.

https://flic.kr/s/aHsm7tFZt3  Here's all my up to date pictures, I'll update new ones as this rebuild comes along.

My first cockpit was made mostly out of cardboard.

Thank You for Your time.

Oh cool, so I assume you scratchbuilt the whole interior there? And wired it with lights?

Really neat work there!

Thank You. Well no one makes anything close to this cockpit, so I had to scratch build it.

I'm mostaly useing strips of LED tape for the cockpit. I was going to replace the grain wheet bulbs in the rocket pods, but they dont quite put out as much light as the old bulbs do.

Except that in my early pictures there was 16 volts going through them, and would get Hot, I'm planing to use 9.

That's really impressive! I remember playing the Battletech board game as a kid, but I had no idea there were kits this size. I'll be following along for sure.

Thank You. This kit came out in 1992.

If your interested in building one? Every now and then they show up on ebay. The last one I saw was over $100.

The Mad Cat "Timber Wolf" cockpit is comming along, I still need to rebuild the vent's and the tubeing, make a back wall and make some decals to replace some of the one's that have been lost over time.

like the name and rank of my Mechwarrior "Piolet" and some Instroments.

Yeah, I really like thoes decals. Instead of being realistic warning tags, they decided to have alittle fun.
