I think I'd shorten the warp pylons by a third and seriously shorten the saucer pylon or do away with it all together. IMHO so it wouldn't be too tall.

Great, when are you starting on it? I haven't been to Sault Ste Marie for many a moon. Isn't that where the Valley Camp freighter/museum is?

Kincheloe is 15 miles from Sault Ste Marie Michigan. I think I could call it the Ronald Regan Class Heavy Cruiser

Go for it! What are you going to call it? Say where is Kincheloe by? I'm from Davison MI and I'll be moving back there in a year or so. I really miss Michigan! Big Smile [:D]

LOL i just had a brainstorm take the enterprise and add 2 more warp nacels on the bottom of the engineering hull and you might have a new class of warship

Looks pretty straight forward to me. Just get your hand on an extra saucer pylon and graft it ontop of the rear saucer deck above the other pylon. Graft the warp nacelles onto each and your in business!

Doesn't look too hard. I might have to try one myself.Wink [;)]

You might check out this guy's site: http://www.jgray-sfb.com/miniatures.html
He has several Mini conversions, nicely done. The metal is harder to work with, but not impossib;e. I used to convert 1/285th scale Micro Armor for vehicles that were'nt at the time produced.

You would have your work cut out for you in that scale. The only things you could use as is are the engine nacelles and the saucer pylon. The Federation Dreadnaught is one of my favorites though. Good luck.

Mike, sounds like the biggy is the B-10 battleship. I had one at one time.

Faol, be sure to take pics of progress and post them from time to time.

Woody, you're welcome. Nice Lyran pic. If I can get Photoshop up and running maybe I can add a background like that to my Tiger pic.

Excellent work!!! I myself have begun my first attempt at building another class of starship. I'm modifying a Reliant kit to create a Comanche Class Assault Frigate, USS Littleer NCC-3619. I only hope it turns out as well. I've never tried this before. All I have to go by is a black and white pic from a book.

Mike, what ships are they? I liked the FASA Klingons better than SFB. And the Romulan Winged Defender was cool too. That would take a while to build.

Woody, plans are on the way.

I know what you mean. I had the whole Kzinti fleet and tradded it away. As well as quite a few others. I kept a few, though, including the FASA ships I had. I have 3 plans scanned, just need to know where to send them. Let me know.

Thanks steven. The old SFB game is chocked full of neat ships. I wish someone hadn't relieved me of my collection of SFB miniatures.

I'll try to dig up the Lyran sheet and see how well they will scan. Give me a few days.

Yes I found the small "plan" sheet that came with the miniature and made 200% size copies. I used a similar method to make the Lyran Tiger years ago. I need to give some thought as to whether or not to "upgrade" to a TNG version by adding panels, etc. I do want to at least lengthen the warp engines and maybe upgrade those too. Yes the Hellbore lives up to its name. I wasn't real happy with the other Hydran designs.
As for the carrier, I'll just keep plugging away at her. I'm actually real close to putting on a base coat of color(whatever that may be) and then have to think of whether or not to aztec it.

Have you found some plans for the Ranger? I would be interested if you have. I used to use the Hydrans from time to time in SFB. That Hell Bore weapon was tough! What was their dreadnought called, The Paladin? I hate to hear your carrier has stalled it was very interesting.

Haven't been able to do much on it lately. Not ime, plus kinda stalled out. Might need a break form it, so I've printed up plans for the Hydran Ranger. Just need to decide a scale. Thanks for asking Woody.
