Just wanted to post a few pics of the TOS enterprise. I used a combination of kit decals and the grid line set from starfleet modelers. I know that the grid lines were not noticeable on the show but they were there on the studio model so I wanted to give them a go. they Stand out a little bit to much for this scale but all in all I think it looks pretty good. I went with a light grey with a touch of blue/green but in the pics it looks more grey. For the Botany Bay I started with a color close to the studio model but I didn’t like how it looked. On the tv it always looked more grey to me so I added grey and ended up with a mix between the actual studio model color and how it looked on tv. I used a Tamiya weathering kit for the dirt and streaks.
You did excellent work. That is one of my favorite episodes too. A classic. Thanks for sharing your build!

Beautiful job on the Big-E!
And the BB don't look too shabby either!

Thanks everyone. It was a fun build. I just threw the Botany Bay together without to much thought. Kind of wishing I put a little more into it. But the enterprise just made me want to do the 1:350 one!
I guess my TOS knowledge has faded. I had forgotten that Montalban played Khan in the original episode.
This is a nice modeling project.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
